The
Cho Wa History
The
Cho-Wa was founded by Sensei Mick Good, who
was already a 2nd Dan in Judo but had been
studying Ju-Jitsu under Sensei John Strode and
Professor Dick Morris. Mick was graded to Sho-Dan
in 1980 his interest grew and in his
thirst for knowledge he began to attend
courses run by Robert Clark 9th Dan head of
the World Ju-Jitsu Federation. This meant a
considerable amount of travelling up to
Liverpool, Blackpool, Manchester and
also to Essex, where most of the instructional
courses were held.
There
were no Ju-Jitsu clubs around Surrey or Sussex
so the only thing to do was open our own. So
in 1983 we opened a Club in Ifield, Crawley,
West Sussex. Since those early days The Cho-Wa
has gained World recognition through the World
Martial Arts Council. We have met people and
made friends all over the globe.
